I've ... ah, well, I've heard back from the people I've written to ...
It seems that they would send someone for him, but they just don't know if they can afford to lose anyone at the moment ... and father insists that he return soon whether they send someone or not. I just ... I don't think I could bare to send him off on his own, not after what he's been through.
His wounds have healed enough, he says, and he says he's too behind on all his research since he's been resting at home ... but I just wish there were some way to convince him that a bit more time could hardly hurt. If I could help him with his work, in any way ...
... and if it really came down to it ... I'd love to accompany him, myself ... but I know he wouldn't even give it a second thought before dismissing that idea altogether.
